Podcasting is a way of receiving your favorite audio/video programs automatically. When a site offers a podcast feed, you can subscribe to the feed (usually available for free) using podcasting software known as “podcast aggregators” or “podcatchers” (available for free). Then, when any new programs are made available, they will be automatically downloaded to your computer. This saves your having to search for new audio programs.

Despite the name, no iPod is required. You can listen to the audio on your computer or download it to any device that plays MP3 audio.
